Salon 554 has been creating beautiful hairstyles in Salem, Oregon and the greater Willamette Valley since opening its doors in 2004. Voted Best Salon in the Mid-Willamette Valley for several years in a row, 554 is known as Salem's favorite salon destination. Salon 554 is conveniently located in the heart of downtown. Fully stated, our mission is “to inspire and enable our clients to look their best, feel their best and be their best by us, both individually and collectively, looking our best, feeling our best and being our best.”

“Being your best” to us means performing at your highest level and achieving your full potential. It is difficult to achieve your full potential and perform at your highest level when you don’t feel your best. It’s also difficult to feel your best when you don’t look your best. How we look and how we perceive ourselves dramatically impacts how we feel, and consequently, how we are able to perform. These pieces, look, feel, be, are successive; they build on each other. By helping our clients to look their best, we enable them to feel their best, and then, to be their best.

The other piece of our mission is about inspiration. There is something inspiring in watching someone perform at their highest level. Even more so, when we are around someone performing at their highest level, striving for personal excellence, we can’t help but be inspired! It’s contagious.

This dynamic can be compounded in a group. If a whole group or a whole team of people have their collective sights set on being their best, on uncompromising personal excellence, there is a magnification of that feeling. There is a synergy that happens where each draws inspiration and energy from others pursuing the same goal. This is the “squared” in our tagline. When we add our talents and our energy together, it is not just me plus you, there is a “squaring” that happens, a multiplication, where our attitudes and desire for excellence compound. They feed off one another, they multiply, and they inspire those around us; both our teammates and our clients.

FAQs

  • We understand there are times when an unforeseeable event may cause you to be late for your scheduled appointment. We will always do our best to accommodate you, however when we reserve time for our guests, we require all of that time to provide you with the best quality work possible. When you are late, it decreases our ability to accomplish this. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your service, your appointment may be rescheduled in order to meet the needs of those who are on time for their pre-reserved visit. At 554 we pride ourselves on working as a team and will gladly work together, doing our best to accommodate our guest’s appointments. However, in the rare case we are unable to accommodate a guest due to decreased time, it will be considered a missed appointment.

  • SALON 554 requires 24 hours’ notice on all cancellations.

    We understand that appointments can occasionally slip your mind and therefore offer several reminders prior to your appointment. These include email reminders 5, 3, and texts 2 days prior, and 1 day prior, and a phone call 2 days prior for a color appointment.

    Should you fail to show up for your appointment within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, a No Show Fee of 50% of the services scheduled will be charged to the credit card associated with your account upon the first occurrence. If you do not have a credit card on file, a Booking Hold will be placed on your account until the balance is paid in full. Upon the second occurrence, the fee increases to 75%, and 100% after the third occurrence.

    While 554 appreciates all of our guests as a whole, our commission-based stylists rely on each and every guest to accommodate their own personal finances. If you are unable to attend an appointment, we would greatly appreciate your help in providing us as much notice as possible to allow our stylists to offer that time slot to other guests.

  • What forms of payment to you accept?

  • Yes we do! Refer a friend and you’ll both receive $10 off a haircut and $20 off a color ($30 off for both). In fact, we have many guests who like to rack up as many referral bonuses as they can in order to eliminate costs of maintaining their hair. Send in all your friends and do the same and redeem all your bonuses at once! It’s a WIN/WIN!

    Certain conditions may apply. While the individual referral bonuses earned can be combined, the referral bonus can not be combined with any other offer and is subject to change without notice. Offer is good for a one time service discount for both referral guest on initial visit and referring guest. Not applicable for retail or gift card purchases.

  • Yes we do! We offer gift cards in any dollar amount. Gift cards can be purchased either in store or online.

  • We happy to offer online booking for Color, Haircuts, Facial Waxing, and Styling services! Please visit our Online Booking page to make a reservation.

    To reserve any other appointment, please call the salon directly for personalized assistance from our Guest Service Administrators.

  • OREGON BOARD OF COSMOTOLOGY LAW states that:

    “A licensee must not perform or continue services on a client with visible open sores, inflamed skin, rash, or parasitic infestations.”

    We will gladly perform hair services on guests with medical scalp conditions, so long as our stylists do not observe anything that may violate the terms of OHLA.

    Our stylists are not medical professionals and cannot provide you with a medical diagnosis, however we are trained to take a cautious approach. In some instances, our stylists may deem it necessary to discontinue services out of consideration for the health and safety of our employees and guests.
